I want to let you all know how much the chats and all the word wars have meant to me over the last few (is it almost three now??) years. I was initially ecstatic to find a group of like-minded, slash-inclined geeks with whom I could talk on a regular basis, OMG! It was amazing how physical distance never seemed to matter and I felt like you all were right there in the room with me at times. Giving and receiving so much feedback and encouragement helped my writing to improve more than I can possibly comprehend. It's been great watching all of us change and grow as writers and artists.

I've been so preoccupied with RL, I feel like I've hardly been around my journal(s). I've been reading small fics and keeping an eye on you all, but mostly either running around to the gym or various heathcare appointments, or fretting over my resume, the seemingly endless process.

Today I finally feel like it's DONE!!! Oh, there will still be tweaks, and multiple variations and formats and postings and cover letters and and and, but I finally read it and feel like it's good.

What an amazing feeling, to be suitably impressed with my own career!  After all the effort my miserable (nearly former!) boss devoted to convincing me I'm incompetent, it feels really great to rediscover myself.

It seemed impossible to ever get ready to make this change, and I still can't see how all of it will work out, but it things are lining up, and change.

Oh, a very good day indeed!

I emailed in my mini_fest fic finally (I've had it done for at least a week).

I proof-read gryffindorj's hp_yule_balls draft and she's looking at my snarry_holidays for me.

I deleted over 300 words from my severusbigbang fic but added at least that much again.

And gryffindorj and I are working on a collab for severusbigbang and it's really taken off! (Thanks to her mostly.)

Actual word count for me so far today is near 600 words but it feels like more. :D

I might have had a bit too much caffeine as well.

Oh, and Minxie? Halloween candy is the work of the devil. Pat Robertson was right. ;)

Thanks to the mods, who did a FABULOUS job making this fest a lot of fun. I am still behind in my reading (recs are appreciated).

This means, however, that my guessing post is now closed, and that I can claim the fic I wrote for the fest, which was Immovable Unspeakable Meets Irresistible Hit Wizard. *g*
I'll be reposting it later.

Unfortunately, no one correctly guessed which fic I wrote, so no one can claim a drabble (I suppose I should be relieved that veridian_dair's magic doesn't extent to H/D, hm?).
